Chapter 136: Becoming an inscriptionist (b)
Chapter 136: Becoming an inscriptionist (b)
"What do you mean by that?"
Whittaker stopped doing whatever he was doing and asked Noah.
There's no need for the Guardian to train for months. The Guardian can simply increase his agility stat to 30 points and you will receive the passive skill "Dexterous body". With this skill, the Guardian will not make even a momentary mistake when inscribing runes. Moreover, the Guardian inscribing speed will increase. Plus, you will be able to control the amount of flame blood being used to make a rune. In simple words, the Guardian will instantly become an inscriptionist and a talisman maker! Noah explained.
Whittaker was surprised by the sudden info dump by Noah. Although he understood all of it, experiencing it was still better than just hearing flowery words.
"Wow! I don't know what Dexterous hands do but since you are praising it so much I must obtain it and check it out myself." Whittaker said while looking at the character screen.
He only had 2 points in agility. That means, he has to spend 28 attribute points to increase his agility stat to 30 points.
"Noah, increase my agility to 30 points!" Whittaker said.
As you wish. Consumed 28 attribute points to upgrade the state "Agility"
Agility Increased: 230
Congratulations, the Guardian has gained the passive ability "Dexterous body"
[Dexterous body (passive)
Rank: rankless
Effect: The Guardian now has far better control over his body than previously. You can control the coordination of your small muscles. Your hands and fingers now have a 100% better synchronization rate with your eyes and mind. You're agile enough to climb walls without the need to use battle energy or mana]
"Let's try it out!" With this exclamation, Whittaker stepped out of the bed to find out how his body and hands have improved.
He moved the fingers of his hands and they moved up and down just like waves. He could even twist his finger to the back, such that it touches the back of his hand without using his other hand or anything.
"Hmm, this passive skill is just as great as Noah described it to be!" Whittaker quickly made his judgment.
"I should be able to create a Flame Wave talisman now. Let's try it out."
He quickly took out another talisman paper and repeated the same process of dipping the heavenly Yin-Yang brush in the "Flame elemental blood inkpot".
This was his sixth time. It could either end in success or failure; However, Whittaker didn't know which one will it be.
He started inscribing the Flame Wave magical rune design on the talisman paper. This time, his speed was similar to Elder Zachary.
Although Elder Zachary had purposely gone slow to complete the perfect grade Flame Wave rune design, he was an old hand A person who has reached rank-10 as a formation master yet Whittaker was just as fast as him while inscribing the Flame Wave rune design on the talisman paper.
Whittaker was currently using Devansha's eyes and he was intently staring at the talisman paper while inscribing the design on it. Each line he draws was perfect, as perfect as it could be.
If it previously looked like a colony of ants with many bumps and turns then it now looked like a serene and calm ocean without any waves.
Whittaker noticed that the runic lines have started to mix to form small round shapes, just like what happened when Elder Zachary Flame Wave rune was completed on the wooden board.
It made Whittaker happy as he believed that he was successful in the sixth try and a beaming smile formed on his face while his eyes closed due to pleasure.
Sha Sha! Suddenly, he heard the Sha sound resounding in the room, and his eyes snapped open.
He opened his eyes to see that the talisman was burning into ashes, once again. After rushing to the bathroom and throwing the flaming talisman inside the water-filled bathtub, Whittaker returned to his bed and sat on it.
"Sigh~Noah, where did it went wrong this time? The runic lines were perfect and I followed what Elder Zachary did yet I still failed," Whittaker was frustrated as he failed for the sixth time.
'Ding!
The Guardian successfully inscribed the perfect-level magical rune design. The runic lines were drawn perfectly; However, the runic lines were not supplied with the right amount of fire elements. The talisman burned into cinders because the flame elemental blood amount was excessive then it could handle
Just like before, Noah's notification popped up in his vision, explaining the reason behind the failed creation of the talisman.
"Even though I had improved way much than the previous time, I still didn't know of the perfect amount of flame blood that's to be used to create the Flame Wave talisman. Noah, can you give me some guidance?" Whittaker asked.
Yes! Noah explained to Whittaker about the perfect amount of flame blood required to create the Flame wave talisman.
With the new revelation about the necessary amount of flame blood, he repeated the talisman creation process one more time. This time more carefully.
"Hahahahhaha," Whittaker continuously laughed when he noticed the lines connecting. "I always thought that the Agility stat was a useless stat that wasn't helpful in any way. Today, I realized that even it is as powerful as mana. Just because of increasing my Agility stat to thirty points, I have become an inscription master in a single day!"
In front of him, the talisman paper floated into the air while producing heat waves. These heat waves first permeated into the surrounding, making Whittaker feel hot. Then they were absorbed into the runic lines of the talisman paper.
The Flame Wave talisman was created!
Ding!
Congratulations, Guardian you have successfully created a low-tier Flame Wave Talisman of basic-level. Congratulation to the Guardian once again for successfully embarking on the path of Inscriptionist and unlimited glory and respect.
Ding! The Guardian just needs to create seven more talismans to complete the profession quest. Good luck and fighting!" Noah cheered for Whittaker, who had been beaming a smile for creating a talisman, even if it was just a low-level one.
