Chapter 275: Worthless

Chapter 275: Worthless

Even Bloodless Bladester who was always calm screamed in his mind, Take it and go level up?! Its a legendary sword! Why do you make it look like a worthless piece of trash!

All Danting did was nod and hug the sword tightly before saying, Looks cool! Thanks, boss!

Just like that, Danting left the room.

He left He really left Just like that? At least look a bit more thankful! Its a legendary sword dammit!

They were expecting a dramatic scene of Drako Yau bestowing the sword to Danting generously and Danting bowing fervently while proclaiming, Thank you master! My life is yours, I will serve you with all Ive got!

After things settled down, Yim Ho seemed deep in thought.

Were comrades in arms. Though legendary items are attractive, theyre nowhere close to our battle-forged friendship, Drako Yau suddenly said.

Chan Ka Lok was too tired to even refute; he felt that his thrill of getting a legendary weapon was doused just from looking at Mask. Attractive? I dont think Im sensing the slightest bit of excitement from you though?

Can I ask something? Yim Ho spoke up. That sword just now, its a legendary, right?

Drako Yau nodded. There wasnt much to hide anyway.

A legendary item costs No, no, moneys the wrong indicator. Every legendary item is priceless, with how few of those treasures are out there on the market. From what I know, a rich guy once tried to buy a legendary weapon that has yet to acknowledge its master from a lucky fella, and the final deal was worth three hundred million, said Yim Ho. He paused for a moment, then continued, While that rich guy hid his ID, I learnt one way or another that Tigeroar was the buyer. Tigeroar vanished without a trace after that quest, and here you are with a legendary greatsword, which coincidentally is what Tigeroar, a berserker, wields. I dont know how you got your hands on an item that has bonded with its master and cannot be dropped, but thats not the point.

Yim Ho looked into Drkao Yaus with a complicated expression. Do you realise you just gave away three hundred million dollars?

Three hundred million was indeed an astronomical number, but when putting more thought into it, it wasnt an insensible price to pay in a way. With how quickly the actual world and Real World had been merging, their currencies were gradually becoming interchangeable. Players who purchased equipment often paid with the currency of the actual world when they were short on coins, and sellers gladly accepted such payments.

Roaring World was the second-best guild on the ranking list and occupied the best plots in Empyreon. With Tigeroars strength and the Divine Martial Sword, clearing dungeons, farming items, or even world bosses were no more than a stroll in the park. With how much revenue he was raking in daily, recovering three hundred million dollars wasnt an unachievable task.

Legendary items also grew with their owners. The owner of a legendary item would likely never have to swap out that particular equipment slot again. Buying strength (legendary equipment) with money, then converting strength back into money (selling item drops and treasures) was a long term investment; as long as the game didnt shut down, it was only a matter of time until the investment generated profit.

When the filthy rich finally figured this out, they scrambled to buy legendary items, but they were left empty-handed. Legendary items were extremely rare in the first place. The base price for purchasing one was already at five hundred million, yet sellers were still always lacking in supply.

When the three saw that Mask had sent them legendary items through mail, their souls almost left their bodies. Before they could calm themselves, Mask casually gave away a legendary sword to his subordinate right before their eyes.

If Mask was despicable enough to keep the items for himself, he couldve made a total of two billion alreadyyet he gave them away without batting an eye.

Drako Yau explained, One, I dont use greatswords. Two, Dan uses greatswords.

What sort of reason is this? The three of them rolled their eyes.

More importantly About the quest just now, wouldnt we have cleared it easily if we had chosen the bandits side?

The three sent glances at one another, realising where Mask was getting at.

Deep down, we all are similar, though you might still be blinded by worldly values. Its just an item, worthless when compared to my friendship with Dan. Do we all not seek something in our lives? To me, that something is living and acting by my beliefs. Is that not why all of you here chose not to kill the innocent girl even though she might just be an NPC?

Good! Chan Ka Lok shouted. Mask! People keep saying how strong you are, how admirable you are, how convincing you are. Ive always refused to believe them! But today, youve proved me wrong!

This personality its just like Hades. Bloodless Bladester smiled from the side; he followed Hades for so long for the exact same reason.

The four discussed various things for a little longer.

I shouldnt bother you any longer. Ill be taking my leave then. Chan Ka Lok was the first to stand up and bid them farewell.

Bloodless Bladester gave a warm smile and said, I should be leaving as well. He stood up to face the others before going on. Its my honour to have fought to the death with you all by my side.

Drako Yau gave him a palm-fist salute and replied, The honour is mine.

Brother Yim, are you not leaving? Chan Ka Lok asked, with Bloodless Bladester also looking at him.

Much to their surprise, Yim Ho actually nodded. Yeah, Im not.

Huh?

Yim Ho stood from his seat and made a respectful bow at Drako Yau. Can I, Yim Ho, follow you from now on?

Taking Yim Ho in was undoubtedly a surprise. There was nothing to be picky about Yim Hos strength in battle; he was one of the best melee fighters even in Drako Yaus squad. His Meteor Fist which could bombard a large area only made him even more well-rounded.

Its not that I dont want to join a guild. Ive just never come across a guild which Im willing to give it my all. But now, my search has come to an end.

Those were the exact words Yim Ho had said to Drako Yau. After he joined, Drako Yau immediately sent him to join Windstrider and the rest, allowing them to spar and build chemistry on their own. Theyd surely give Yim Ho a decent surprise to say the least.

Time slowly went by. It had been weirdly calm, with no incidents or power struggles taking place.

Still, Empyreon had changed a fair bit. With Tigeroar missing, Roaring Worlds vice guild master Pulchriture alone wasnt enough to convince their members, resulting in a massive loss of elite players. Empyreal Alliance took the opportunity to rise and took in many of those elites who left; the alliance was now far greater than it used to be.

With Empyreal Alliance slowly taking over the city, other guilds in Empyreon finally realised something was off. Since Empyreon wasnt a united city like Yoda, clashes of interests werent that noticeable at first glance. The other guilds only knew the severity of the issue when Empyreal Alliance started acquiring popular stores and plots in the city, which put a dent in their profit.

The other major guilds finally banded together to form the alliance Myriad Blooms, led by the number one guild Traceless Floreal.
