Chapter 426: Why is it always you?

In the end, as a friend, she held his hand and dragged him to the staff room before his punishment got severe. 

But what's important in all this is...at that time...she had yet to see Mo Yuhan. She saw him for the first time during the last two months of her 6th standard.

"How do you even know that I held his hand?" Tang Li glanced at the man who was sulking beside her. 

Mo Yuhan cleared his throat as the car pulled up in front of Grace Villa. He alighted the car before walking to the other side and opening the door for her. 

"Let's go inside."

She was speechless. As if she was going to let him go today without getting to know the truth. Lan Xingyu was out for some work since morning so there was no one else in the place to interrupt them. 

Just as Mo Yuhan walked upstairs, she grabbed his hand, "I am not letting you go until you tell me everything. In details." 

The man paused, "What if I don't?"

"I have all the patience in the world so I'll throw all kinds of tantrums until you speak about it."

He sighed helplessly as the corner of his lips tugged up, "I saw you much before the time we met. The time when you were sneaking around our classroom to solve a question on the board that piqued your interest."

Her eyes widened, "Tell me that it was love at first sight for you."

Mo Yuhan turned around, his azure eyes looking at her with amusement, "I was barely 13 or 14. How would I be interested in all those things? More so, maybe I saw you as an intelligent younger sister."

The corner of her lips twitched. That damn younger sister was a nightmare for her during the school days as she liked him in her heart but everyone gossiped that he only saw her like a younger sister. And gradually, she also started believing that. 

"I'll be lying if I said that," he continued.

She raised an eyebrow as he descended the stairs and walked towards her closing the gap between them. His eyes flickered, "It was love at first sight for me when I saw you being weird, aloof, cute, naughty, intelligent but dumb at times. It has always been love. But the recognition and acceptance and all that took years until we met again. I fell for my wife all over again only to realize that she was the girl I missed out on."

She hooked her arms around her neck, "I can't believe this."

He tucked the loose strands of her hair behind her ear, "Mm?"

"I feel like I am on the losing end. You laid your eyes on me first. Every time. But I was the one who took initiative."

He chuckled, "The purpose is all the same. We had to end up being together, no?"

"Probably," She blinked.

He leaned closer to her until their lips were inches apart, his hot breath stroked her face and she stiffened feeling his index fingers drawing circles on her waist. Her heart raced as his lips teased hers, occasionally grazing past them. 

Right at this moment, the doorbell started ringing continuously. 

Tang Li flinched as she patted her chest, "What the..." She inhaled a few deep breaths. She was so lost in the moment that the sudden ringing of the doorbell scared her off. 

Mo Yuhan's brows tugged slightly, "Are you fine?" He hugged her. 

She sighed, "Yeah. I am just a bit fidgety these days."

The doorbell continued ringing. 

"It must be her. I'll go open the door."

"And do finalize a date to send her back."

Tang Li was speechless.

As soon as she opened the door, she was greeted with the sight of Lan Xingyu striking a sexy pose near the wall.

"Why is it you?" The woman straightened up immediately. 

Tang Li raised an eyebrow, "What are you doing?" Her gaze roamed around her strapless backless little bodycon dress.

Lan Xingyu glanced at the man who was standing near the staircase, "I am seducing him," She whispered beside Tang Li's ear before running towards him, "President Mo~" Even though her intention was something more, she leaned in for a formal hug. 

'Bam'

Mo Yuhan stepped to the side causing the woman to fall on the floor. 

Tang Li closed her eyes.

Mo Yuhan glanced at the woman struggling to get up from the floor, "Miss Lan, you wanted to say something?"

Lan Xingyu forced a smile on her face as she pushed herself to her feet, "The floor is slippery," Her cheeks turned red.

Mo Yuhan glanced at Tang Li 'Come to the room' He mouthed before walking upstairs.

Tang Li tried her best to not smile. She found this somewhat annoyingly funny. It was as if they were teenagers meeting each other behind their parent's back. What a tragedy!

As he walked upstairs, she glanced at Lan Xingyu who was adjusting her dress, "It looks like he is not seduced by you," She muttered. 

The woman tilted her head upwards, "It's all because of your presence which ruins everything. Back then, you were an eyesore to me when you kept clinging to him even though he was annoyed by your presence. You are an eyesore even now. Why does it always have to be you?" She snapped at her as tears streamed down her cheeks.

Tang Li stayed quiet for a few seconds after the woman's outburst. 

Lan Xingyu wiped her tears as she inhaled a deep breath, "You agree with me, don't you?"

"I apologize for what I did with your letter," Tang Li glanced at her seriously, "As for the rest of the things you said, I won't point opinions on all that. What is there between us doesn't need to be displayed on billboards. I know it, he knows it and that should be enough. My man won't be seduced by you so you should quit trying."

With that said, she walked upstairs without sparing a glance at the woman who was fuming. 

Lan Xingyu threw away her shopping bags, "Bitch. Humph!" She stomped her feet on the floor.
