The blond boy glared at the man, who had no intention of backing down.

Kiba had been waiting for this moment since he saw Irina and Xenovia arrive in the town. It was clear they had been searching for the Excalibur fragments if their conversation was to be trusted.

He had to take care of them once and for all. He would destroy all Excalibur fragments. He needed to eliminate the ones that had wronged his family once and for all.

Kiba got ready to charge at the man. At the same time, the man realized the danger and began to move. Kiba saw the opportunity and took it as he closed the gap between himself and the man, swinging his sword right after.

Before the man could dodge the attack, Kiba used the momentum of his sword to spin around completely. He spun in a full circle, aiming for the man's head. The man seemed to understand what was happening;

The robed man immediately activated Excalibur Rapidly ability, increasing his speed, and reappeared a distance away. However, Xenovia and Irina were already there, swinging their swords at the man.

Once again, he escaped their attacks.

"You're not going anywhere!" Issei spat. He was already behind the man, boosting himself 3 times already and adding one more.

[Boost!]

His physical ability was now equivalent to or even stronger than the average Middle-Class Devil. Thanks to his training, he could predict the man's movement.

The man turned around immediately but couldn't dodge as his feet didn't touch the ground. Instead, he spun his body and raised his sword to try to block Issei's punch. Still, he had underestimated the boy slightly.

Issei's blow was stronger, and as a result, the man was blown away quite a bit, crashing against the wall and creating a cloud of dust to rise.

"Irina!" He shouted at his childhood friend, who was close to where the man landed.

"On it, Issei-kun!"

"Let me assist you.!" Xenovia shouted.

The twin-tailed girl and her partner rushed into the dust alongside Kiba, who moved once Issei sent the man flying.

"Sword Birth!" The blonde boy stabbed his sword against the ground, and a sword wave appeared, starting thin and becoming a mountain as it got closer to where the man was.

Irina thrust her sword as it suddenly lengthened, piercing inside the cloud. While Xenovia plunged in between the attack and swung her sword down. However, before she did that, her eyes widened and landed near the smoke.

She swung her sword to the side to clear the cloud of dust. When it was gone, everyone realized that the man had long gone.

"Tsk! He ran away!" Xenovia exclaimed.

"Isn't that good? We are safe." Issei commented from the side as he approached the three of them.

"But we lost our lead." Irina added as she turned her sword back into a bracelet and put it on her upper arm. "And we don't know who that guy behind the mask is."

Kiba pulled his sword from the ground and turned around. "I will find him."

"Wait!" Issei chased after Kiba, who walked away. "Irina, Xenovia! Tell Nii-san that I will follow Kiba!"

"You don't need to do this, Issei-kun." Kiba said cynically as he turned to his side, looking at Issei. His eyes were still lifeless, something that the Sekiryuutei noticed.

"Not a chance." He replied, putting his hands behind his head after he dismissed his Boosted Gear. "My Nii-san will kill me if he knows I leave you alone in your condition."

"Hah!" The blonde boy scoffed. But his eyes turned tender again, just like his usual one. "Don't get in my way, though."

"I should say that to you." Issei spat back. Somehow, a part of Jin's personality rubbed off on him after going almost everywhere together. He felt like he was brainwashed a little bit by his brother.

"You want to destroy the Excalibur fragments, right? I heard what you said earlier."

"It's a personal reason," Kiba replied.

"I won't pry into your past. Still, it's best if you think twice. I don't know your problem with Excalibur fragments but think about Rias-senpai's position. She will be in trouble if you act rashly."

" You're right." The blonde looked at Issei. "But that doesn't change what I need to do."

"Is this how Nii-san felt when he dealt with me in the past?" Issei muttered in a very low voice, not even audible to him. Then he turned to Kiba. "Anyway, I trust you won't create a problem for others! Rias-senpai is now Nii-san's girlfriend, so we will get tangled into trouble if you create one."

Kiba unexpectedly chuckled at his words. "You're right"

"I am right." Issei nodded.

Jin walked down the street with his hands in his pocket.

He had promised Rias to take care of Kiba, but how? The boy's hatred against the church, or the Holy Swords, maybe couldn't be quelled unless the blonde destroyed them by himself.

With that information, combined with the one that apparently Cao Cao knew and told Issei, he could only depend on something miraculous that made Kiba change his mind.

For some reason, Cao Cao knew the information about something hidden inside the church. Maybe someone from the Hero Faction had a connection with the church or a former church member. He didn't know.

The thing was, he needed to find the Excalibur fragments and prevent the war Kokabiel tried to wage. His goal was so simple, but why was it so problematic?

Deep inside, Jin knew because the situation itself had already been difficult and complicated due to someone's plot and interference from the others.

Thankfully, this time he had a backup. He pulled up his phone and read the message he had received just a minute ago after he was done with Rias.

The message was from Kalawarner, his 1st personal cow that returned to Grigori for a while. Azazel asked her to fetch something, and so she did.

More importantly, here was the thing about the message. She said a reinforcement was being sent for him to deal with Kokabiel. He shouldn't count on the reinforcement, but that someone would surely help if the situation was out of control.

Right now, Jin was walking toward the meeting point located at the clearing near the abandoned church. That was the only place out of the Devil's watch and the perfect place to hide.

Arriving at the clearing, he sensed a familiar energy walking toward him. Shortly after, a white shadow appeared between the bushes. Alright, that someone was really dependable. Jin grinned and raised his hand.

"Yo, they sent you?"

"Yeah." The person Jin greeted nodded. "I volunteered myself because I think there will be an interesting fight going on."

"A battle maniac, huh? Anyway, it's nice to have you behind my back, Vali."

"No problem. I see that you have gotten stronger too. How about another spar?" Vali grinned, looking at Jin.

"Maybe later." Jin shrugged his shoulders. "I have a lot of problems right now."

"Thought so. That's why I am here. Let's fix your problem and have a spar again."

"Sure." Jin grinned back. "Once again, it's nice to have you, Vali."

'I can now have a reason to hide the Excalibur fragments for myself.' He added inside his mind.
