C48 – Another Fierce Beast Came!!

​Could this be a volcanic crater?

Lee Tian pondered whether he had stumbled upon one, as it bore a striking resemblance to a volcanic crater.

Encircling the pool was a series of vast, empty spaces he identified as Cave Halls.

These Cave Halls were expansive, stretching the size of half a football field!

To his astonishment, within the cave lay stone tables, stone stools, and even stone stoves!

Was someone actually living here?

Beyond the startling sight of the stone furniture, the floor of the Cave Hall presented an even more shocking spectacle—animal skeletons scattered everywhere!

​Some remains were intact, others were not. The jumbled bones made it impossible to discern the types of animals they once were.

A few carcasses hadn’t fully decomposed, their stench permeating the Cave Hall.

Lee Tian, overwhelmed by the foul odor and the sight of the scattered bones, shuddered with fear.

He was grateful the cave’s entrance was spacious enough to allow air circulation; otherwise, the smell would have been unbearable!

The more he observed, the more his amazement grew.

This was truly an alien world!

Then, his eyes were drawn to an animal corpse propped against the cave wall. His heart seized, and he instinctively retreated into the water.

A chimpanzee?

Could it still be alive?

That very corpse he had just seen was the body of the chimpanzee!

Lee Tian waited beneath the water’s surface until the stillness above assured him it was safe to emerge.

He peered at the chimpanzee, noting its lifeless form, devoid of any sign of vitality.

Gathering his courage, he climbed from the water onto the floor of the Cave Hall and cautiously approached the chimpanzee. He needed to know—was it dead or merely asleep?

“Big brother gorilla?” he called out, nudging a few animal bones toward it.

The clatter of bones echoed through the silent Cave Hall.

Startled, Lee Tian quickly crouched down.

Luckily, the chimpanzee remained motionless, seemingly confirming its demise.

As he reached the chimpanzee’s side, it suddenly stirred and issued a low, warning growl!n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Startled, Lee Tian reacted on impulse!

He swung his Scythe, aiming a vicious blow at the gorilla’s neck!

Blood gushed from the gorilla’s severed neck.

Lee Tian’s heart raced, his body going slack from the adrenaline.

He recalled the System Beep. The gorilla was a formidable beast of Profound Rank Level 1!

He wasn’t sure of the exact strength of Profound Rank Level 1, but the Experience Points seemed meager.

And he hadn’t gained any special abilities from the gorilla.

Once his nerves settled, Lee Tian started to survey the Cave Hall.

But just then, a disturbance rippled from the direction of the pond.

More creatures were approaching!

He glanced over and spotted two bizarre beasts emerging from the water’s edge!

Scanning for a hiding spot and finding none, he made a split-second decision to drop to the ground and feign death.
