Divine Harem: My Sect of Heavenly Beauties

Chapter 250 Past of Two Sisters

250  Past of Two Sisters

Ning Xi turned towards Nancy, raising an eyebrow in surprise. After all, she knew her sister very well and knew she wasn't nasty or anything. She was actually the most innocent person she had seen.

Sensing her questioning gaze, Nancy elaborated as others were also curious.

"I'm guessing she has bad luck, but not on master's level, right?"

Ning Xi nodded, not really surprised at how clearly Nancy was able to sense it.

"Yeah, the most that happens to her is that she attracts trouble a lot, like how she spawned in the territory of the Tier 4 Spiritual Creature in the tournaments. Nothing much aside from it."

Nancy smiled and said.

"Yeah, it's because of her past life karma. I don't know what she did but she was carrying a negative karma which made her life tough. But don't worry, it's over so she can live peacefully now."

Surprised, Shen Yu said, rubbing his chin in thought.

"I see. She didn't have high karma otherwise things would have been much more direct and because of the laws we live in, her fate wasn't fixed so the trouble automatically came to her."

Nancy nodded, as she stood up and went towards Ning Xue. Stopping beside her chair, she put her hand on her head and said.

"Don't resist."

Although a little confused, Ning Xue nodded in agreement. She wanted to get away from her bad luck at any cost, so she was ready for anything. Though, she wondered what kind of things she did in her past life to get such karma.

Her thoughts were interrupted by a jolt of pain that paralyzed her whole body. It was as if a living lightning bolt was coursing through her veins.

She groaned, as she clutched her head in pain. Her mind felt as if it was being split apart by an otherworldly hammer pressing it again and again. It hurt, but knowing that this was necessary for her future, she endured it without a single cry of pain.

After some time which felt like an eternity, Nancy finally took off her hand which caused Ning Xue to gasp for air, as she rested her head on the table. Her forehead filled with sweat, as redness crept on her fair skin.

Dusting off her hands, Nancy said.

"There, I've removed that karma from her so she can live peacefully now. Though it really wasn't necessary since it was almost over, this would give her a new freedom to do anything. She can live a good life now."

Hearing that, Ning Xi heaved a sigh of relief as she felt a heavy boulder getting off her heart. She had been trying to find a solution for years and finally, she had succeeded.

She sent a thankful look to Nancy and then patted Ning Xue's back, asking.

"Are you okay?"

Slowly, Ning Xue rose and sat up properly. A beautiful smile plastered on her face, despite the pain. She nodded at Ning Xi and then turned towards Shen Yu and Nancy.

"I don't know how to express my gratitude but I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have given me another chance at life with this."

She even stood up and bowed, surprising Ning Xi for a moment, though she also smiled and said.

"Don't worry about it. Master would have helped you anyway and you don't need to pay...wait! You can actually pay by..."

Before she could finish her words, she received a kick from under the table, as she stopped and turned to look at Ying Yue who was glaring at her.

Ying Yue scoffed and said.

"You should know her emotions are a mess now so why are you using them?"

Ning Xi shrugged in response, while Shen Yu chuckled at their antics. He looked at Ning Xue and said.

"You can sit down and enjoy our hospitality as much as you want."

When he saw Ning Xue nodding, he turned towards Ning Xi and asked.

"Alright, I'm sure everyone is curious so why don't you tell us your story?"

Ning Xi sighed, as she took out her wine gourd and drank a mouthful of it. Wiping her lips, she said.

"My story isn't really that impressive or sad like yours, Master. If I have to say, then I probably lived a rather good life till now. I was born to a mortal couple who used to live by farming. Our whole village was like that, filled with mortals."

She chuckled and continued.

"The term Cultivation was way above us and no one really thought any one of us will become a cultivator. We were just farmers and used to live a happy life. We were really happy. However, we forgot that we lived in a cruel world."

"One day, the Empire declared war on the outsiders who wanted to take over the Empire. It was nothing related to us, but we were caught up in it. You'll find it hilarious how we were caught up in it, Master."

She drank a mouthful of wine again and said.

"That day, two Core Formation Realm Cultivators were fighting in the distance. It was the end of the world for us, as the fight was way above us. It felt like the Gods were fighting and of course, when Gods fight, mortals cannot remain unscathed.

"One of the attacks from them landed at the centre of our village, destroying everything in the outburst. Houses collapsed, killing those who were hiding inside them while others simply died from the aftermath of their battle. It was a pure disaster."

She clutched the wine gourd tightly and continued.

"They were all killed for literally no reason. Just because the upper echelons were greedy, so many innocent people lost their lives. Xue'er and me survived though, as we were playing outside the village at that time. When we went back to the village, all we found was a flattened plain.

"Nothing was there. Not even the dead bodies as if they had died without even leaving a corpse. That day, my hatred for the cultivators was born and I wanted to kill every single one of them. Because of them, mortals always died." Nôv(el)B\\jnn
