Danmachi- Hell’s Forge

Recovery and fine

Recovery and fine

Let's be honest here though that was a very big fucking if. So far the falna has shown no inclination to altering my evolutions trajectory. Though it was entirely possible that I simply hadn't gone far enough along this path to see it's influence. Though I certainly wasn't an expert on the falna and couldn't say for sure. I shook my head to clear away these thoughts as I looked over my newest cursed tool. It was entirely unintentional but the coin had a dual colored glow to it that corresponded to each of it's faces.-

The face with the laughing face on it glowed a dark red and the crying face glowed a bright blue no doubt signifying the positive and negative implications of both. When held however the coin didn't glow at all but was a plain white coin from all appearances. It was only when flipped that the glow returned in full force before shining most brightly depending on which side it landed on. I of course felt no regret when flipping it so it always landed on the laughing face up but that was proof enough that it worked.-

I set the tool aside as unless the person who did the pass parade showed up or was identified it served no purpose at the moment. Lili, Welf, Cassandra and Daphne were well on their way to full recovery a couple hours later after some food, potions and rest in my special not coffin that gave the person in it a slight regenerative ability. I was especially proud of that last one as I knew the thing would be useful beyond when I was leveling up. They likely would be back to a hundred percent by the end of the day from my estimation with the exception of Bell who was gonna need a while to recover after the strain he had put himself under.-

I almost felt bad for the fact he didn't have cursed energy or he'd probably have unlocked RCT or domain expansion from how desperate the situation had been. Still he wasn't walking away totally empty handed as if nothing else this event was worth some stats after he got updated. He had already woken up from his mind zero coma but was nearly cripple with how feeble he was. He had over drafted his mana reserves past mind zero and that energy had to come from somewhere and I hazarded a guess as to where. -

His vitality was most likely the source of that energy that he used to fuel his spells when his mana ran dry. It was a small sip of his total vitality but I had little doubt he'd shortened his own lifespan by a few months at the very least. Thankfully so long as he reached level five that wasn't a huge problem as his lifespan would be about a hundred and twenty years old so long as nothing killed him.-

The fact that leveling up brought one closer to divinity was not a joke and had more impact on a person than just their stats, skills and magics. The higher you go the longer your lifespan got as you literally shed away your mortal limits. Supposedly even a human could live up to three hundred years after reaching level seven. Anyways the point here was that besides this temporary period of weakness Bell would not be seriously impacted by this event which quelled a little of my anger at the one who made this whole mess.-

Reckoning came however for the disturbance I caused with my mad rush to reach them in the form of a rather hefty fine from the guild that we paid without issue.

"Aye, it was a shite situation no matter how you looked at it." Hroldar said after I roughly explained the scenario to him while he was over to check out what was going on.

"Nothing for it though, occupational hazard. Besides it's not like we are exactly hurting for money anyways with me taking commissions regularly as well as selling those figurines." I said with a shrug.

"Aye, one of the wealthiest familias at your guild classification in Orario. Might even give Ishtar and Dian Cecht a run for it." he said nodding in agreement.

"We aren't THAT wealthy but we are much better off than most. Makes things convenient when we want to try our hands at buying some of the rarer or more top shelf items. Been keeping an ear out on grimoires in fact since I think it might be a good idea to fill my last magic slot to solidify my fighting style from here on out." I said honestly.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Truly? Most only use the things if they think getting magic normally is a pipe dream. Way I see it you'll likely get that last slot filled in time even without one." he said trying to convince me against the idea.

"I feel the same but this way I'll have some control over the final result and once that last slot is filled I won't have to worry about it anymore beyond how best to use what I have." I said with a shrug.

"Hmmm I can see the value in that, don't mean I approve though. Seems like a waste of money to me." he said dropping the topic.

We chatted for a bit before he left only for us to receive surprise visitors. To be specific a god and a human man that was rather large oriental individual with short black hair and green eyes. The god had white eastern style robes and an odd hairdo that had loops of long hair at the sides while the rest was shorter and neatly combed behind his ears.

"I do hope you'll forgive us our sudden arrival but there is a matter that we should discuss." the god said with a slightly apologetic bow.

"Takemikazuchi?" Hestia said and the god nodded.

"I am surprised you recognized me, we rarely met in the heavenly realm and never truly interacted." Takemikazuchi said seeming genuinely pleasantly surprised.

"I recognized you because you were famous for being a natural gigolo in heaven and I memorized your features to keep away from you." Hestia said and the god had an embarrassed look.

"Ah, that makes sense." he said awkwardly chuckling.

"Are you here to commission something or for some other reason?" Hestia asked now that introductions were over with the god.

"I assume you are here to apologize for the pass parade?" I asked with narrowed eyes on the human who fit the description that Bell and the others gave me close enough.

Takemikazuchi looked at me surprised but quickly regained his composure and nodded seriously.

"Yes, we only learnt the identity of your familia after the fine was made public. Ouka here has been looking for you to apologize in person for this wrong doing." the god said introducing the human with him seriously.
