Chapter 332 - Foolish Mistake
"You have five more seconds..." Khal's cold and indifferent voice traveled through the air, reaching every one of the creatures' ears and causing all of their expressions to become ghastly pale.
Those words were like a bucket of cold water thrown at them, forcing them to realize that they were truly in the deep shit right now!
"Boss, what should we do?" the Night Crawler who stood next to Bane swallowed nervously, his body trembling from fear as he looked at the human before him.
Just now, five of his comrades that were at the peak of the Body Temperer Stage were torn to shreds, and in an instant to that! They didn't even have the chance to scream up from either pain or horror, that's just how fast everything has happened!
'Although we have the advantage in numbers, I still think we have no chance in this fight. We have completely underestimated this human!'
Bane, on the other side, just stood in one place with a grim expression on his face, looking rather serious which was the first even for somebody like him; it was rather obvious that his following decision will determine if he and his men will be able to survive this clash or not!
"Four... Three... Two... On-"
"I accept!" hearing as the human before him was counting down with indifference, making him feel as if the reaper's scythe was pressing firmly to his throat with each word, Bane quickly lowered his weapon and shouted his decision.
Khal, who was ready to go all out and go on a rampage, stopped talking and curved his lips upward.
"It seems you are not that of a fool in the end." Khal lowered his weapons slightly as he said those words and continued, "Then as said, I want a thousand High-Quality Essence Pills and a spaceship. You have 5 minutes or else I will have no choice but to use your essence for my forthcoming breakthrough, and believe me, you don't want that."
Hearing his words, many looked raged and provoked, but once they recalled the scene where five of their comrades were ripped apart in split seconds despite having a stronger cultivation base than the human, they could only surpass their emotions.
The only one who didn't look angered and instead showed a slight fear was surprisingly Bane, as he was well aware of what those words by the human before him truly meant if the rest of the Night Crawlers didn't; he literally stated he will kill every single one of them and turn their corpse into essence before consuming them!
Although it didn't sound terrifying nor intimidating as it was only a different form of death, Bane knew way too clearly it was by no means as simple as death.
According to several sources, while humans were a weak race where they stood no chance at all against those on the same Cultivation Stage as them much less those above them, except for their multifarious Blessings, they had a terrific trait that made quite a few creatures below them in cultivation stage to tremble in fear.
Life Disintegration!
It was a 'skill' only the human race possessed, allowing them to turn any living being they have killed into a mass source of energy that can replenish and support their Blessing's growth by a huge margin!
Some even assert that whoever was killed by a human and was turned into a source of energy will have their soul and spirit to live in the literal abyss of hell until the very moment the human who consumed them will not die!
As Bane thought about this he clenched his teeth and nodded before glancing at the soldier on his side, "Bring him what he asked for."
"But Bo-"
"Just. Do. It!" Bane hissed coldly, forcing the creature to jerk in fear and quickly nod his head like a pecking chicken before giving one final glance at Khal and running away hurriedly.
Khal seeing this just showed a calm smile and added, "Oh, and if you or any of your men try to do something funny, don't even hope to see moonlight ever again."
After he said those words, Khal sat down on the cold and rigid ground before closing his eyes, dumbstruck everyone around him speechless as currently, he was completely wide open!
'Chance!' was the thought that appeared in many minds, but just before they could have taken a step further a loud and chilling hiss sounded in their ears.
"Halt this instant!"
Every Night Crawler shifted their gaze toward the source of the voice only to see their leader stare at them with a pair of sharp eyes, his whole body emitting a threatening aura that froze all of their movements in an instant!
"If you dare to take even a step forward I will personally sever those brainless skulls off your heads!"
Shuddering in fear and because of the slight killing intent that appeared in the air, many Night Crawlers took a step back in confusion, trying to come up with reasons why their leader stopped them from acting even in the face of such a great possibility!
They could easily kill that human whose guard was down at the moment, yet their leader was stopping them! It made no fricking sense!
Bane naturally knew that it made no sense for him to miss such a great chance, but he was no fool either to fall into an obvious trap such as this one in front of him. Although the human before him presented a lower guard, anyone with a keen sense and slight survival instinct would know that if they dared to attempt an ambush this moment would be equivalent to jumping right into the tiger's dent blindly!
They would die without knowing what killed them!
'He is scary... Is he truly a human?' Bane pondered deeply as thick drops of sweat rolled down his face.
Time passed slowly, making each second feel like hours and each minute like day, and exactly after a bit less than four minutes later the creature that ran away came back, two items in both hands; one black ring and one black token, both crafted from unknown materials.
"Here it is... Boss... A thousand Essence Pills, each High-Quality, and spaceship."
Bane took away the two items from his soldier and gave a check before nodding and using a technique to make them float before Khal.
Khal, whose eyes were already open the moment the creature came back grabbed both items and gave them a glance.
"A spatial ring and a spatial token. Let's see if the things I have asked for are inside the-" Khal began to speak before abruptly halting his words, his face becoming rather serious.
As this happened, the creature's face who brought the two items stiffened. This immediately caught Bane's attention, and as if a sudden realization hit him his eyes widened.
"Don't tell me you..."
However, before he was about to finish his words a deep and heavy sigh appeared from his side, following a voice that was filled with disappointment.
"What a pity..." Khal said coldly and without waiting for any of the creatures around him to respond he waved Moonshadow in his hand.
"No!"
Swish!
