Chapter 165 Bao, The Not-So Love Expert
Everybody already had a hunch that Kai was not as stupid as he made it out to be.
However, to get a perfect score in Sir Dao's surprise quiz was still pretty shocking.
"What the heck? Weren't they training until evenings for the past week?"
"They were! That means that Kai's pretty intelligent."
"Well, he was able to answer Sir Dao's question during that recitation."
"But, isn't it shocking that he got a higher score than Haobin?"
"Yeah, I'm checking Haobin's paper, and he got a 17."
Sir Dao pursed his lips and placed the paper on the table. He wasn't in the mood to announce all the other high-scorers after seeing Kai perfect his quiz.
"Pass the papers to the front," he grumbled.
The students were confused, but they still followed his instructions.
"Congrats," Bao sincerely said. "You answered so fast, too. You're a real master!"
Kai shook his head in amusement.
However, Sir Dao's mood became increasingly worse as their class progressed.
He didn't like how Kai was proving his presumptions wrong. One thing about Sir Dao was that he liked being right all the time. So, the fact that a student was proving him wrong made him feel iffy.
Aside from Sir Dao, Haobin was also not in a good mood.
He glanced at Kai, who still appeared to be deep in thought and not even listening to Sir Dao's lesson, before shaking his head.
Why does he keep on getting such high scores when he wasn't even working hard?
Meanwhile, Haobin studied every night just so he could be recognized by his teachers and classmates.
Moreover, it doesn't help with the fact that Kai was increasingly becoming more popular in their school because of his presence on the basketball team.
"It's unfair," Haobin muttered as he continued writing in his notebook.
The lesson surprisingly went by pretty fast because Kai kept on thinking about Lina.
Up until now, he still didn't know what he did wrong, and he was slowly losing his sanity.
As Bao and him made their way out of the classroom, the former couldn't help but notice his bitter mood.
"Are you alright?" Bao asked.
Kai clicked his tongue. "What would you do if a girl suddenly stops talking to you and avoids you at every given chance?"
Bao raised his eyebrows. "I think you're asking the wrong person. I don't have any idea on how a girl's mind works."
Kai sighed. "Me too," he muttered.
"Although!" Bao said, raising his index finger in the air. "I do have some expertise from all the romance fantasy web novels I have read, so you're a lucky boy!"
Kai turned to him with bright eyes. "Tell me—what could I have done wrong?"
"Well, there could be plenty of reasons! First, do you recall ever saying something about her appearance?"
Kai pursed his lips before shaking his head. "No," he said.
Lina was so pretty that sometimes he got so speechless.
"Then, did you, in any way, touch her inappropriately or go through her stuff without her permission?"
Kai frowned and immediately shook his head. "Of course not. I'm not a weirdo."
"Hmm," Bao hummed. "So there's not other reason?"
"Not that I know of," Kai muttered.
Just then, Bao halted, causing Kai to do the same.
"Then, there must only be one reason!" Bao excitedly said as he looked into Kai's eyes.
Kai waited in anticipation for Bao's revelation.
Bao smirked before speaking.
"She must be jealous!"
***
Kai shook his head, and Bao's words rang in the back of his mind.
Jealous?
Jealous of whom?
It seemed like Bao was actually the wrong person to ask about the situation.
"Unless," Kai muttered as he arrived at the court and saw Zeren and Lina talking excitedly with each other.
"Unless they're together, and it's Zeren who's jealous of me," he whispered, still standing in the doorway.
"Is that why he's so mad at me, too?"
Zeren...and Lina....Together?
For some reason, that thought sent his heart into turmoil.
There was a weird ache in his heart as he stared at the two of them, laughing with each other.
"And so...we went on a vacation to Singapore, right? And I'm the type of person who can't poop when it's not in my own toilet," Zeren continued to talk about his Singapore escapade.
Meanwhile, Lina couldn't hold herself back as the silly boy continued telling his story. He was even speaking with actions and all!
"However, we were going to be there for five days, and there was no way I couldn't poop for five days. So, I decided to stock on my fiber, and I even bought an enema!"
"It was one of the weirdest feelings in the entire world, but it still didn't make me poop."
"As a result, I ended up not pooping for those five days and passing out from how big it was when I got home."

Lina held onto his shoulder for support as tears streamed down her face.
Meanwhile, Kai kept looking at them with narrowed eyes, wondering what was so funny for Lina to be crying in laughter.
"Crap," Kai muttered as he looked at them.
He was still in the doorway, not finding it in himself to enter and interrupt their conversation.
"What are you doing here, kid?"
Just then, an unfamiliar voice spoke behind him, causing Kai to turn around.
There, he saw a man wearing a tracksuit with a whistle hung around his neck.
Kai narrowed his eyes since he couldn't recognize the man. He seemed to be in his late 40s, and it was obvious that he was a sports teacher of some sort.
"Why are you glaring at me?" the man asked.
Kai relaxed his gaze before shaking his head.
Then, the man looked at his jersey before exclaiming in recognition.
"Ah, I see," he said, recognizing Kai's last name.
"Kai Guo," the man smirked. "I've heard a lot of stories about you."
Kai raised one of his eyebrows in surprise. "You have? I don't recall ever meeting you," he deadpanned, causing the man to frown.
"It seems as if Sir Dao is right," he scoffed. "You're quite the troublemaker, huh?"
Kai shook his head. "No, sir. I'm just pretty honest. I've never really seen you in my whole life."
The man's facial expression turned sour.
"So, you don't even recognize the man who's going to help your team?"
Kai tilted his head to the side in confusion.
Just then, a loud gasp interrupted their conversation.
Kai turned around, only to be met by his teammates, who had shocked looks on their faces.
Lina's eyes trembled as she looked at the man before them.
