Back For My Daughter

At the gate of the Sunflower Kindergarten.

"You should be going home right, come on, I will drop you guys."

Mrs Ji said while smiling at Ye Qian who was holding Little Qiqi and Xiao Ya in both his arms.

"That..."

Ye Qian forced a smile, not knowing what to say, he knew that they weren't actually going to their home right away and didn't know how he should say that.

He was well aware as to why she was offering that, the reason was because he would bring the girls while carrying them in his hand all the time, which Mrs Ji thought would be too much straining, despite the fact that Ye Qian looked fit enough.

"Aunty, Qiqi and Papa aren't going home, we will first go to Grandma Xue and others."

"Huh?"

Mrs Ji looked at Ye Qian and then turned to Little Qiqi and asked.

"If it's on the same road as your house, I can still drop you."

The little girl thought for a moment before nodding her head with a grin.

"Ohh, okay."

"Come, I have some chocolates in the car, while we get to the destination you can have them."

Hearing that she had chocolates, the little girl, Xiao Ya, grinned.

"Hehe, thank you, aunty."

Mrs Ji was about to walk them to the car when she saw Ye Qian's troubled look and shook her head.

"Nothing to be worried about, bringing you along won't be any hassle."

"I also have taken a break today, so there isn't a hurry."

She thought that Ye Qian was worried that she would get late in tending them and thus was hesitating.

"Papa, lets go."

"Hmm."

Ye Qian could only nod and carefully lowered the little girls and held their fingers as they crossed the road.

Meanwhile, Mrs Ji went to unpark the car, leaving Zhimen along with them.

"Zhimen, hold Qiqi's finger, we need to cross the road."

Ye Qian said, carefully looking around for any approaching vehicles.

"Huh umm."

The little fellow nodded absentmindedly and then saw a hand reaching out for him.

"Come quick, hold the hand."

It was Little Qiqi who had done so after hearing her Papa.

"Umm ok..."

The little fellow nodded and clumsily held his friend's hand but seeing him holding like that, the little girl held his hand tightly.

"Zhimen, you need to be careful when crossing the road, didn't you hear what Teacher Wu told us today."

The little girl reminded as they walked across the road, their big eyes looking right and left from time to time.

Meanwhile, the little guy was flustered with his cheeks turning a bit red but he still followed the little girl's words and carefully followed her.

Of course, this little scene wasn't left unnoticed by Ye Qian, who could only smile while shaking his head while holding Xiao Ya's hand with his other.

'The fellow is shy just like I was back then.'

Ye Qian thought that Zhimen was feeling slightly embarrassed since a girl had held his hand.

And of course, the reason was partly true as well.

The kids would play along and would often touch each other's hands, but it wasn't how it was like now.

Meanwhile, Ye Qian and the little ones crossed the road and directly stopped right before Mrs Ji's bright red car.

"Ohh, you guys came already."

Just as she was about to walk out of the door, she noticed four figures zooming in from the mirror.

"Well, it's not good to keep others waiting."

Ye Qian smiled and opened the back door, letting the kids enter first before closing and walking to the other side and entering the passenger's seat.

Seeing that her son had a flustered look on his face, Mrs Ji got worried.

"Zhimen are you feeling hot, want to drink some water sweetie?"

She thought that since the sun was shining high in the sky, her son might have been feeling somewhat uneasy.

"Ahh, no Mom, I am fine."

But much to her surprise, the little guy almost jumped and shook his head with a red face.

"Uhh, okay."

Mrs Ji could only smile wryly before turning to look at Ye Qian who hadn't worn a seat belt.

"Mr Ye, you should wear a seatbelt, the traffic police are taking the rules seriously since some accident happened last week."

Ye Qian nodded but after a moment of searching around, he still couldn't find the seat belt.

Seeing him like Xiao Ya and Little Qiqi said in unison.

"Papa, it's behind you."

But before he could reach out, a slender hand flashed before his eyes and a strap was pulled out from his right before quickly snapping it on the other side of the seat.

"Alright, now it's done."

Mrs Ji said before looking on the other side, with a flushed face.

Only after she had clipped the seat belt did she realize what she had done.

Just a moment ago when she was reaching for the seat belt, her lips had gone close to Ye Qian's ears, and although it seemed like he hadn't noticed it, for her it was different.

She would always do this when her husband would sit on the side and she would give him a peck.

And it was only luck that she hadn't done something like that subconsciously, or she might not have had the face to look at anyone any more, especially the three little fellows sitting at the back.

However, unaware that there was something that Ye Qian's eyes hadn't left something unnoticed, Mrs Ji started the engine and slowly drove ahead.

'She was so fast just now? Did her roots awaken?'

Ye Qian had realized that she had Spiritual Roots long ago when they first met, but he didn't think that they had awakened.

And just the speed she had reacted just now made him realize that she had indeed awakened her Spiritual Roots and although she didn't have any cultivation level, her body was still much faster than most of the people with no spiritual roots.
