Villain: The Play of Destiny

Chapter 103 103

"You circulated the drone footage of my accident?" Keith narrowed his eyes at her.

"You should thank me!" She lightly smiled. "The drone was never meant to keep tabs on you, but I managed to convince one of the guys responsible for them."

He knew that she was right. Had people not seen what exactly happened with him, Christian might have easily gotten away with his ploy.

Now that there was a recording of how the cars were deliberately caging him, even the Heir of the Falken Family had to play safely. It was also the reason why the driver of 720s admitted to his involvement with Christian in an effort to clear the latter's name.

According to the official narrative, Christian only wanted to make sure that Keith did not win the race. There were simply no plans on his side to kill the Heir of the Demiliore Family.

What was interesting was that the driver of the 720s was not really lying. He was never informed of the plan to kill Keith, and he was only meant to keep him from getting into the race.

"What are you going to do now?" She curiously asked.

"Nothing." Keith lightly said and sipped on his soup.

"Come on! Tell me!" She insisted.

"Want to go to Delvon tonight?" He smiled and asked.

"If you go there, chances are that there will be another attempt on your life." Rebecca seriously said. "Don Francis is desperate, and the Underworld of Delvon is in turmoil. He feels that your family would come after him next, and if you go there now, he might try to take you out with him."

Her words were blunt, but Keith paid no heed to them.

"You are not going there!" Surprisingly, the person who had been staying silent ever since she arrived here finally spoke.

"So, dear Miss Lin is finally willing to speak." Rebecca playfully said.

However, Qingyue did not respond to her words and stubbornly stared at Keith.

"I need to go." Keith shook his head. "Besides, even if Rebecca's words prove true, nothing would happen to me."

"Do you think it will only be Don Francis?" The grey-eyed girl narrowed her eyes at him. "Christian won't miss this chance too."

"Is that so?" He playfully smiled and kept drinking his soup.

"I will go with you." The blonde girl suddenly said.

"Okay. We will leave at 7 pm. I have to go to the Military District in the evening to check up on the dead body."

"Why?" She frowned.

"I need to find what sort of Poison was used since the Forensics have not been able to pinpoint it yet."

"Will it be useful?" She curiously asked.

"Not really. But it will give me a better understanding of what sort of hidden hands the Falken are keeping."

"You sound really sure that you will find the truth." She playfully smiled at him.

"I am." He smiled back at her. "Didn't I tell you that I am the best doctor there is in this world?"

"Right." She scoffed at his words and then poured herself some soup too. "Where's Amelia?"

"Office." He replied and then smiled at the grey-eyed girl, who had her head lowered.

"I will be fine, Qingyue." He gently said.

"Mhm." She did not look at him and simply nodded, keeping her eyes on her meal.

"How's your grandfather?"

"He's fine." She informed him and did not say anything more.

"And are you feeling better nowadays?" He curiously asked.

"In what sense?" She curiously looked up at him.

"Physically." He smiled at her.

"Yes." She nodded her head with a light smile. "I spend a couple of hours every night to Cultivate, circulating my Aura all over the body. It helps me sleep and I always wake up fresh. I also tested my stamina and found out that I can run faster and longer than before!"

There was a hint of excitement in her voice, and Keith could not help but smile at it.

"Give me your hand." He said and drew his hand to her.

She obediently placed her soft hand in his, and let him inspect the state of her body.

Her curious eyes did not miss the surprise that dawned on his expressions, and it was the same for Rebecca, who was watching their interaction.

"So?" Qingyue hopefully asked when he let go of her hand after placing a kiss on her knuckles, which no longer bothered her.

"You are progressing faster than I expected."

"Really?!" She excitedly asked.

"Yes." He nodded to her. "At this rate, it will take you just under 6 months to finish the Body Refinement Stage."

"Okay!" She brightly smiled when she heard his words, more than content with her progress.

Qingyue knew that it generally took over six months for the most talented to pass this stage, and to be able to finish it under six months by only Cultivating for a couple of hours every day was too good to be true.

"How long does it generally take to pass this stage?" Rebecca curiously asked.

"Depends from person to person. Talented people take around 6 to 12 Months if they focus only on their Cultivation. And generally, it takes from a year to two to pass this stage." He informed her.

"I see." Her ocean-blue eyes glanced at Qingyue meaningfully before focusing on eating her meal.

Qingyue was now in a better mood since Rebecca was keeping quiet. She chatted with Keith about miscellaneous things, and deliberately, from time to time, brought up the matter of Cultivation.

He knew that she was trying to get on Rebecca's nerves, and he amusedly smiled and played along with her.

"You are in love with him, aren't you?"

"W-what?" Qingyue was taken aback by Rebecca's sudden words and looked at the blonde girl in a panic.

"Nothing." She playfully smiled and poured herself some wine.

"I..."

"And so are you, Miss Grayson." Keith suddenly said, making both the girls turn to look at him. "I can see that you are madly in love with me." He playfully smiled at her.

"You wish!" She scoffed and sipped on her wine. "I told you. You are not my type."

"Somehow, I find myself doubting your words." He kept looking into her eyes, and Rebecca suddenly leaned over, coming very close to his face.

"Is that so?" She mischievously asked and sensually looked at his lips. "Do you love me?"

"Do I need to say it first for you to admit it?" He leaned in and nudged his nose with hers. "Have I ever told you that you smell so heavenly good?" He gently cupped her soft cheek and traced her cheekbone with his thumb.

"Really?" She innocently asked.

Even though they were only teasing each other, she could not help as her face started warming up a little. She stared into his eyes, finding only herself in them and her heart skipped a beat when he leaned in some more, but to her relief, he only approached her ear.

"You owe me a kiss, remember?" He teasingly said and planted a kiss on her cheek.

Rebecca suddenly bolted away from him and narrowed her eyes at him. She could feel the warmth of his lips lingering where they had touched her, and her heart was getting anxious.

"Why?" He chuckled. "You don't intend to pay your debts?"

"Nope!" She grinned and bluntly said.

"Keith!" Qingyue suddenly shouted out.

"What?"

Both of them called out in unison and turned to look at the grey-eyed girl, who was agitatedly looking at him.

"Behave!" She sternly said.

"Okay." He chuckled and shook his head before winking at Rebecca, which prompted her to burst out in giggles.

"You love playing with a Maiden's heart, don't you?"

"Only the ones I find myself attracted to." He admitted. "I can't be bothered about the rest."

"Ahan?" She playfully smiled. "There's something I am curious about, Keith." She said, suddenly sounding serious.

"Yes?"

"What happens if we do end up falling in love with each other?"

Her question took him by surprise, and when he stared into her gorgeous blue eyes, he did not find the usual playfulness there.

"If it happens, it happens." He shrugged. "It isn't like I would ever mind having you in my life." He smiled and said, looking right into her eyes.

"I see." She nodded and got back to her meal.

"The idea isn't so bad, is it?" He playfully asked.

"Maybe." She smirked and said but did not look at him. "And her?"

Qingyue suddenly tensed up when she was dragged into their conversation.

"Yes?" He frowned and asked.

"You don't mind having her in your life too, right?" She raised her head to look at him in his eyes.

Keith could sense that Rebecca wanted some answers today, and she was testing him. It was something he welcomed happily and brightly smiled at her.

"Qingyue is beautiful, isn't she?" He asked back.

"Yes." Rebecca narrowed her eyes at him.

"I find my life more fun with her around me. So, nope, I don't mind having her by my side either." He truthfully said.

"Men usually refrain from disclosing their feelings about another girl in the presence of someone they plan on courting, Heir Demiliore." She lightly said. "It is not wise to make someone doubt your intentions."

"I am just an honest man, Miss Grayson." He smiled at her and did not deny her words about him planning on courting her.

"Are you?" She smirked.

"To those who I care about, yes." He nodded his head.

There was silence at the table after his answer, and all three of them finished their meal in peace.

"My mother is entertaining the idea of proposing our marriage to your mother." Rebecca suddenly said when Keith was about to leave the table, catching them both off-guard.

"What?!" Qingyue stood up on her feet and looked at the blonde girl in disbelief.
